Terms and Conditions for Website Usage

  • Welcome to our website. If you continue to browse and use this website you are agreeing to comply with, and be bound by, the following terms and conditions of use, which together with our Privacy Policy govern Novo 45 Ltd t/a Airedale Yarns' relationship with you in relation to this website. If you disagree with any part of these terms and conditions, please do not use our website.
  • The term 'Novo 45 Ltd t/a Airedale Yarns' or 'us' or 'we’ or ‘Airedale Yarns’ or ‘Novo 45 Ltd’ refers to the owner of the website whose registered office is Novo 45 Ltd, Aire Valley Business Centre, Lawkholme Lane, Keighley, BD21 3BB. Ordering and Delivery

  • Minimum order: We have no minimum order.

  • All UK orders over £50 will be postage free (unless you return part of your order - see 'other charges').

  • Out of stock items & back orders:
    • Only items in stock will be shown on the product page (or stock status will be displayed).
    • We do not make back orders - to be notified when a product is back in stock - see here.
    • To view every colour in a range (in or out of stock) see here.

  • Discounts:
    • We don’t normally offer discounts for retail/web orders.
    • Unlike many other retailers, we keep our prices fair all the time - rather than inflated pricing only to offer a discount later.
    • We can offer discounts for schools, colleges and universities - contact us here to set up an account.
    • We may from time to time offer promotional discounts on our products.
    • Discounts will only be available while the promotion is running, unless otherwise agreed by us.
    • However, we invite special or bulk orders (over 10kg) for certain customers and may offer a discount on these types of orders. Contact us here.

  • Picking and despatch:
    • We pick, pack & despatch on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays.
    • Orders placed before 12 noon on ‘pack’ days will be despatched that day.
    • Orders placed at other times will be despatched on the next available ‘pack’ day.
    • Once despatched, your order will take 48 hours to be delivered through royal mail tracked/2nd class postage. Please note: International deliveries will take longer.
    • Estimated time from ordering to delivery will be; time to next ‘pack’ day + royal mail delivery time (roughly 2 to 4 days or longer for international)
    • Sometimes orders can get delayed - our maximum delivery time can be up to 14 days.
    • We do not currently offer quick/next day delivery.

  • Postage/shipping rates:

  • Shipping countries:
    • We currently ship to UK and many international countries.
    • Our site will calculate international postage up to 2kg. see here for full details
    • If your order is over 2kg or your country is not listed - please get in touch here with your order requirements and we’ll quote you on postage.

  • Non Delivery of Order:
    • If your order does not arrive please try the following:
    • Wait at least 14 working days from day of despatch.
    • If you have a tracking number use it here to check where your delivery is.
    • Contact the local post office/delivery branch and check if they are holding a parcel for you.
    • Contact us here to start the investigation process with us.
    • We will inform you of our findings/re-send the order within 14 days of your contact.
    • Please note: Cards are not always left by carriers, and your order could be sitting in a depot waiting for you! Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have not received your order when it is expected so we can investigate on your behalf. If your order has been sent by Royal Mail we would ask that you check with your local Post Office in case your parcel is waiting for you there. If we need to re-send your order we always prefer to send it to an alternative address - if it didn't get delivered once, it might not get delivered again. We are happy to send to work or college, friend's or family's addresses. If the original parcel subsequently arrives we ask that you "refuse" it so that it comes back to us without costing you anything.

How to Order With Us/Use Our site

Returns, Replacements and Cancellations

  • You have the right to cancel/return within 14 days of receiving your order. (Please see below for further details)

    • Cancelled within 14 days:
      • Order not despatched - you will get a full refund.
      • Order despatched - you’ll need to return your order to us for a refund (return postage is not refunded).

    • Cancelled 15 days or later
      • Order not despatched - you will get a full refund, unless the order is a ‘special’ order and non refundable.
      • Order despatched - we normally won’t accept orders back, but deal with each order on an individual basis. Please get in touch with us before returning any part of the order.

  • How to cancel an order:
    • Log into your account, find the order you wish to cancel and click ‘cancel this order’.
    • Contact us here with the order number of the order you wish to cancel and the details of why you need to cancel and (if within 14 days) we’ll cancel it and create a refund.
    • If your order has already been despatched it cannot be cancelled. See ‘Returning an order...’ below.

  • Items that cannot be cancelled or returned:
    • Personalised goods or goods made to a consumer's specification; for example, orders where the product is produced to the customer’s specification.
    • Items that have been mixed or are un-seperable from other items.
    • Products where the seal or packing has been broken into or removed.

  • Returning an order or part of an order:

    • Within 14 days of ordering:
      • If you no longer want your order you will need to return it to us in a saleable, unused and un-damage condition (the return postage will not be refunded).
      • If you want to return part of your order; inform us what you will be returning here. Then send us the unwanted items us in a saleable, unused and un-damage condition (you will be responsible for the postage costs of the return).
      • You are responsible for the goods getting back to us. If the goods do not arrive we will not issue a refund - Unless you can provide proof of posting.
      • We recommend you send your order through a tracked or signed for service to ensure safe return delivery to us.
      • We are not responsible for items that get lost on the way back to us.

    • Over 14 days:
      • We normally won’t accept orders back after 14 days, but deal with each order on an individual basis. Please get in touch with us BEFORE returning any part of the order.
      • We will then inform you of how to proceed with your enquiry.

  • What happens when I cancel or return an order:
    • If you have had your order for more than 14 days DO NOT RETURN IT OR ANY PART OF YOUR ORDER WITHOUT CONTACTING US FIRST. If you do return your order, or part of it, without receiving instructions from us, you will not receive a refund and you will have to pay postage to have your goods returned back to you.

    • What happens when cancelling an order (not despatched):
      • Once we have been informed you want to cancel your order we will stop processing the order and mark the order as “cancelled” and inform you via email.
      • We will wait 1 working day in case you change your mind.
      • We will then process a refund against your chosen payment method.
      • You will receive your refund within 14 days of us processing it (it’s usually much quicker than this).
      • Your order will be marked as complete/closed.
      • If you want to cancel your order, but it has been despatched - please see “returning an order” above.

    • What happens when returning an order (despatched/arrived):
      • If you wish to cancel your order, but it has been despatched - you’ll need to return it. If not yet despatched - see above “How to cancel an order”.
      • Once your order arrives you have 14 days to decide if you want to keep your order.
      • Once you inform us that you will be returning some or all of the items, we’ll acknowledge this request.
      • You now have up to 14 days to return all or part of your order.
      • If you provide proof of posting in your return request - we’ll process the refund within 1 working day.
      • Otherwise, we’ll process the refund, within 1 working day, from the day the order is received back to us.
      • You will receive your refund within 14 days of us processing it (it’s usually much quicker than this).
      • Your order will be marked as complete/closed.

    • What gets refunded:
      • You will receive the amount you paid for the goods you return, unless the goods are in the 'non-returnable' list above.
      • You will also receive the basic cost of the postage used to send the original order.

    • What doesn’t get refunded:
      • If you chose upgraded or express postage this will not be refunded - just the basic postage rate.
      • Any goods that are in the 'non-returnable' list above.
      • The cost of returning your order to us.
      • Orders that do not reach us - unless you can prove postage.
      • Services provided as part of the order that have now been fulfilled.
      • Items used, damaged or taken out of their packing - before they were returned.

Incorrect or Damaged Goods

  • Check the goods as quickly as you can and raise any issues as soon as possible. This will avoid problems later, for example, over whether you have 'rejected' goods quickly enough.
  • If the package is badly damaged - either reject the package or ensure you sign as damaged/not checked. This way we’ll know there was a problem getting the goods to you.
  • Inform us that your goods are broken or faulty immediately. This must be done within 30 days of placing the order.
  • We will arrange for the broken/faulty goods to be collected.
  • Or we will inform you of what to do with the faulty goods.
  • Once we have confirmation of collection, we will re-send your items.

Pricing and Payments

  • How You Can Pay:
    • You can choose PayPal or Yorkshire Payments for any transactions. You can pay through Yorkshire Payments directly.
    • You can pay by credit/debit card with or without a PayPal account.
    • You can also pay using your PayPal account.
    • You will be charged by Novo 45 Ltd (Airedale Yarns is a trading name of Novo 45 Ltd).
    • Goods are paid for up front, before delivery. Unwanted, damaged or returned goods will be refunded as required (see above in cancelling/returning).
    • We can produce orders with payment via invoice/purchase order - contact us here to do this
    • We do not accept cheques as payment unless we agree this with you - before placing your order.
    • We do not store any card or payment data on this site or at our office.
    • PayPal is a safe and guaranteed way to process payments with little risk to you or us.
    • If your payment does not go through, please contact us and we’ll let you know what to do next.
    • If payment is taken twice for the same order, please let us know and provide your reason for thinking this. We will investigate and refund the extra payment as required.
    • If you are shopping from outside of the UK, place your order and your credit card company/PayPal will convert the transaction to your own currency at the current exchange rate.
    • Sorry, we don’t offer student discount - we tried, but the NUS refused us!

  • Pricing:
    • All prices are shown in full on our website.
    • No VAT is payable on any of our products (we’re not VAT registered yet!)
    • We cannot budget for events outside our control and may at any time adjust prices without warning.
    • From time to time incorrect prices may appear, if wrong we reserve the right to charge the correct retail price having contacted you first.
    • Other or additional charges will not be added to the order, with the exception of postage - to see the postage rate for your order use the ‘postage calculator’ in the shopping basket. Or see Simple Postage rates here.
    • If you purchased a product with a discount applied and then return the product or cancel your order - you will only be refunded at the price you paid (even if the product is now priced at more).
    • If you take advantage of free postage by ordering over £50 of goods, but then return goods that take the order value to be under £50, we reserve the right to charge postage at the rate appropriate to the remaining products in the order.

Other Charges

  • The ‘free postage’ charge will be taken from any refund due if payment is not provided for the postage charge.
  • From time to time we may provide products or services not advertised on out website. We will agree these services and charges before starting work and requesting payment from you.
  • Quotations and/or preparation of orders that customers can do for themselves through our website will incur a nominal administrative charge.

Schools, Colleges, Wholesale and Special Orders

  • We offer accounts and special ways of ordering for qualifying customers - please contact us here for how to set up an account.
  • If you are ordering for a school, college, university, museum, design agency, wholesale business, etc. you are more than welcome to chose to pay by invoice or cheque, however we require you to create an account which we will need to validate. Please contact us here for how to set up an account.
    • Once you have received confirmation from us, you will then be able to place orders through our website and choose the appropriate payment method.
    • If you order and are assigned an invoice, you will receive your goods once in stock and despatched to you (please see delivery times above).
    • If you would like to pay by cheque, we will place your order and hold the stock for 5 working days. We will need to receive the cheque within 5 working days or we will cancel your order. We will not despatch your order until the cheque has cleared into our account.
  • We can process orders with official purchase orders from your finance department. Please send a copy of your purchase order number through to us so it is clear who will be paying for the order.

Product Presentation and Description:

  • We know that ordering from a screen can sometimes be tricky, so we want it to be as painless for you as possible. We photograph actual balls and cones of yarn where possible to give you the most accurate indication of colour.
  • The settings of your monitor/tablet or phone (brightness, contrast, colour settings) will influence the way the images appear on your screen and we suggest sending us a sample if you need to match a particular yarn.
  • Images should be viewed along with the descriptions of colour.
  • We put as much input into the narrative of each product as we can to give you a really good indication of what you are buying.
  • Meterages are guides and not precise units and if we don't know a specific meterage, count or washing instruction we will err on the side of caution and suggest the closest we think based on our experience.
  • By using the textile counts systems we can often calculate a meterage accurately, but due to tension of winding machines, humidity and moisture content a yarn may be longer or shorter than expected (even if the weight is accurate).
  • Within each product description we suggest crafts that each item is suitable for, but these are just guidelines and we suggest making a small sample, and subjecting it to the final treatment your overall piece will be used under before embarking on the completion (making and washing a tension square, stitching and washing a sewn sample etc.).
  • This is particularly important if you are knitting or crocheting with a yarn other than that stated in a pattern or if you choose to use a weaving yarn for a knitting project or crocheting with a rug yarn etc. etc.
  • Rules can be broken though, so play around and experiment if you want to be adventurous, but we cannot accept liability for outcomes of projects as conditions of use are totally outside our control (whether good or not so good!).

Refer a friend

  • You must have an active account with us to be able to refer a friend.
  • You must be logged in to see and claim your reward.
  • Orders placed while not logged in, will not have reward applied and any reward cannot be applied after the order has been placed.
  • You will receive a £5 reward for each person you refer, as long as the following conditions are met;
    • Your referred friend isn't already registered with us.
    • They register an account with the same email you sent them the request.
    • They place an order of £25 or more (not including postage).
  • If one or any of your referred friends return their order, your reward will be revoked and if you have spent it you will be liable to repay this amount. If we detect what looks like unfair usage or attempts to abuse the system we will, without notice, revoke your ability to use it and may close your account. You may still be liable for invalid rewards claimed.
  • If you have been referred you are entitled to a one time 10% discount. You must place an order of £25 or over
  • Referred friends must create an account to claim their discount.
  • There is no limit to how much reward you can earn, but you can only use up 50% of an order value at any one time. I.e if you have £40 in rewards and you place an order of £20 - you'll only be able to use £10 reward for that order (you'll still have £30 in your account to spend later)
  • Your rewards do not expire. This includes referrers and referrals, so if you don't place an order of £25 for while - it will be activated the first time you order is over this amount, even if you have placed smaller orders in the interim. For referrers - your rewards will sit in your account until you are ready to spend them
  • You can access your referral activity and reward account at any time by logging into your account and clicking "Referred Friends" in the "My Account" menu.
  • Your reward amount total and how much you can spend this order will be shown on the checkout screen.
  • We may without notice and at any time remove access to and use of this service.
