WHAT IS IT?
A gorgeous soft and twinkly crochet pattern for an lovely garland of 20 subtley glittering vintage hearts made using our Glitter and Good Fortune Cotton yarns.
WHAT'S IT FOR?
These lovely hearts make a great alternative to bunting that can be strung around the house for Valentine's Day, for a child's bedroom or a mantle piece trimming. They would also look great in a caravan, beach hut or garden shed for a nostalgic feel.
The hearts use a combination of 4ply yarns and you can play around with colour combinations so no two hearts are the same throughout the whole length of the garland.
Glitter is a standard 4ply yarn and is available in a wide range of sparkling shades, though we are unsure as to whether we can get the pale pink again. Perhaps you could use a paler pink from the cotton range, or choose silver or platinum for a more muted twinkly effect. Stay away from vintage colours and go dramatic with some of the bright shades of Glitter and cottons or add black for real gothic drama. Good Fortune is the soft, matt cotton used in the pattern, but you could add a glossy finish by choosing Glisten our mercerised cotton in lots of colourways.
The hearts would make a brilliant gift once crocheted up or why not buy the pattern and yarn and create a kit for a crocheter?
Instead of a garland you could always make individual hearts to use as framed decorations or stitched onto a blanket or garment - lots of possibilities!
