WHAT IS IT?
A quick and easy pattern for a chunky plant pot holder using our Recycled Cotton Cord yarn.
WHAT'S IT FOR?
Macramé is on the up...and so are your plants! No longer seen as a 1970’s has-been or just for hippies and spider plants, macramé is cool thanks in no small part to knotters sharing their makes on Pinterest, but also to the much wider range of suitable yarns available. This very thick cotton yarn is quick and easy to knot into hangers in either white or cream and can also be dyed to add a splash of colour.
The cord is nice and thick and juicy so works up in no time producing a strong, sturdy holder than can take a good sized plant. The nature of the netted, knotted area at the base means that it expands to take smaller and larger pots with ease.
Our cord is available in a variety of thicknesses (3mm - 6mm) and we have chosen the Type 8 (4mm) as it's not too thick and not too thin, but you could use any of the weights just remember that the thicker (Type 10 or 12) won't last quite as long but will grow more quickly and the thinner (Type 6) will go further but won't grow quite as quickly. Therefore you will need to adjust the lengths you cut the yarn to before you start and always over compensate as you don't want to run out half way through.
