WHAT IS IT?

DY341 is a classic velvety chenille yarn spun from cotton with a micro binder for strength. It's soft, slightly furry and cosy so great to add a subtle, unusual texture to all types of projects and is perfect to dye.

WHAT'S IT FOR?

All our undyed yarns can be dyed with hot or cold water dyes using tools and equipment you would have in your kitchen. Cotton needs to be dyed with cold water, procion or fibre reactive dyes and can also be dyed with natural dyes – into solid or unique space-dyed colourways.

The texture of this yarn will add character to all types of projects whether knitted or crocheted, and adds beautiful texture to tassels and braids. It's strong enough to use as a warp (though check depending on how much tension your loom will give) and will work brilliantly in the weft. Chenille is a very historic yarn for couching into embroideries to create a lovely velvet surface.

Also excellent to re-create hair or fur when making dolls and animal figures, Santa's beards and sheep!

WHY SHOULD I BUY IT?

A brilliant yarn to experiment with either in its natural state or once dyed.
