WHAT IS IT?
This fabulous yarn is a brilliant all-rounder as it is strong, colourful, smooth and gleams with a lovely lustre. Unlike soft cottons, Glisten has a sheen and slight corded appearance meaning it will give great stitch definition and drape to a whole host of textile projects. Even more versatile by being available on these handy 100g cones in a wide range of colours that are often being added to.
WHAT'S IT FOR?
Whilst it's a perfect yarn for machine knitting on a standard gauge machine, Glisten can be knitted by hand or crocheted as a standard 4ply. Brilliant at highlighting your skills and technique by showing off stitches perfectly and giving great definition. It will create medium weight fabrics with a good drape and these 100g cones mean you don't have to splash out a huge amount if you want to create stripes and patterns, Fairisle and intarsia.
As Glisten is a lovely smooth yarn with good strength it means it's great for tatting and lacemaking, brilliant for braids and tassels, knotting and macrame. As with most cottons it doesn't have very much give, meaning it's great for weaving and is strong enough for both the warp and the weft and will create colourful strong fabrics.
Being machine washable it's also a really practical yarn and a great price for experimenting if you are new to machine knitting or weaving.
