WHAT IS IT?
We have sourced this lovely yarn from a merchant and unfortunately there is a distinct lack of labelling. What we do know is that this is a blend of Cashmere and Merino Wool spun by a company renowned for creating the highest quality, luxurious yarns.
It's a 2/30wc, so is pretty fine, but plying a few strands together gives more flexibility with a newly created thicker yarn. It feels soft and luxurious and has a gentle sheen so perfect to wear against even the most sensitive of skins.
The sample shown has been machine knitted on a standard gauge knitting machine, gently hand washed and steam ironed. It fluffed up slightly and "fluffed" a bit to create a softer fabric and certainly has shown no signs of felting (though of course we would recommend hand washing with care on anything other than a sample).
*Please Read Carefully* This yarn came into us on quite small cones, so there may be two or three joins within a cone in order for us to wind 100g. Also it is in VERY SHORT SUPPLY, when it’s gone, that’s it, so please order enough to complete your project (if you have one in mind).
WHAT'S IT FOR?
This blend is spun for industrial use to produce high quality knitwear and a single strand can be used on its own on a very fine gauge, industrial knitting machine. With patience you could also hand knit or crochet very delicate pieces, but by stranding three ends you create a 4ply yarn that has then many more possibilities. Strand three different colours for a marled effect or three the same and you won’t be able to see that it’s not a 4ply.
