WHAT IS IT?
Poodle is a fabulous super chunky all wool yarn packed with knobbly, bobbly textures. A very fine binder creates to gimps and bumps and the natural content means it’s perfect to dye.
WHAT'S IT FOR?
All our undyed yarns can be dyed with hot or cold water dyes using tools and equipment you would have in your kitchen. Wool needs to be dyed with hot water or acid dyes and can also be dyed with natural dyes – into solid or unique space-dyed colourways.
The texture of Poodle will add character to all types of projects and is ideal for knitting or crocheting into quick accessories such as cowls, scarves and hats, though there would be no stitch definition, so perfect for beginners! Although untried, there is no reason why it won’t felt to create thick, lumpy felt with lots of possibilities. It’s strong enough to use as a warp (though check depending on how much tension your loom will give) and will work brilliantly in the weft especially in tapestry weaving and peg looms.
Also excellent to re-create hair when making dolls and animal figures, Santa’s beards and sheep!Crocheting, Dyeing, Embroidery, Feltmaking, Knitting, Tapestry Weaving, Tasselmaking, Weaving
WHY SHOULD I BUY IT?
A fun and funky yarn that’s perfect to use either in its natural state or once dyed for a huge range of crafts. These large skeins are ready to go straight into the dyebath.
