WHAT IS IT?
The perfect cord for macrame! A very strong undyed cotton yarn available in one highly versatile thickness of 4mm. This yarn has a corded, rope type appearance for great stitch and knot definition. At this price you can play around and experiment - great for beginners!!
Postage for one spool is just the same as for two spools - so take advantage of Royal Mail’s prices!!
WHAT'S IT FOR?
As it’s so strong the cord is suitable for weaving in the warp, macrame and other heavy-duty projects whether sculptural or experimental pieces. No worries about the cord snapping as you knot it tightly whether in decorative wall-hangings, macrame planters or knotted hammocks. If you are a pegloom weaver this is a great warp as it's nice and thick, so will match up with most sized pegs.
Perfect for designers, installation artists, fashion and design students looking to make a BIG statement. Great in soft furnishings and upholstery as a piping cord, make chunky braids and tassels, knit or crochet into bathmats or runners or 3D vessels.
Unlike synthetic cords this cotton will dye easily, so re-create some of those brilliant dip-dyed planters easily and cheaply with our cord. Use cold water dyes to transform it to your own colourways (as the cord is quite dense it's wise to choose paler shades or be prepared for a slightly mottled effect due to the pigment struggling to penetrate throughout the yarn).
Our cord is a natural undyed ecru colour which has not been bleached or dyed to achieve this lovely neutral creamy colour. This brilliant, natural yarn is very eco - you can even sometimes see tiny flecks within the yarn which are the seeds from the cotton plants! Soft to the touch, but strong.
This cord is a big hit with macrame-ers as it's a great price and goes a long way. But please note we cannot guarantee that the cord is knot free, so there may be some joins within the spool, but they should be few and far between and there may not be any joins at all.
Suitable Crafts: Braidmaking, Extreme Crocheting, Dyeing, Mega Knitting, Knotting, Macrame, Tasselmaking, Weaving
