Weaving yarns need to be suitable for the warp, the weft or both, though there is a much wider selection of suitable weft yarns as they don't have to go through as much tension.
Please see the narrative within each yarn to establish whether it is suitable for warp, although the chosen weft does have a bearing on the warp. For example a fine silk can be used for both the warp and the weft of the same piece, but would struggle as the warp if the weft was a thicker, strong cotton.
We have a good selection of yarns including simple, smooth linens, fine, colourful wools, textured boucles for a dash of “Chanel†and chunky cotton cords for the strongest of warps. Create woven pieces on all types of looms whether inkle, tablet, hand, tapestry, floor, table or peg!
