Mohair really is a bit of a Marmite yarn - you either love it or hate it! Fortunately for us there are plenty of you out there who love it which is why we have a range of both dyed and undyed yarns for you to craft with. Spun from the fleece of the angora goat; mohair yarns are soft, lustrous and very hairy, trapping warm air in their fibres and keeping you very warm, if not tickling you up the nose! Not great if you are sensitive to fluffy fibres, but mohair tends to tickle rather than scratch.
The lustre and fluff of mohair are the characteristics loved by its devotees and the yarn is perfect for knitting, crochet and weaving into both garments and light, cosy throws, blankets and cushions. Mohair is often on the chunky side meaning projects will grow quickly, though it has a generous meterage so will go a long way as well as being lightweight.
