WHAT IS IT?
Fusion is a collection of single textured linen and viscose yarns packed with slubs and almost a shantung silk style texture. The addition of viscose vamps up the glossiness of the surface, plus cotton creates soft slubs throughout. These unusual yarns are quite fine, but also strong and although filled with subtle coloured slubs they can also be dyed.
WHAT'S IT FOR?
Single yarns can be quite weak, but Fusion is strong enough for lots of craft applications and the lovely, natural texture can be used in many decorative ways.
Make into lustrous tassels and delicate braids and couch into experimental embroideries. Weave in both the warp or weft to create delicate, fancy fabrics with a lovely lustrous surface. The very patient could knit or crochet into lacy, lightweight accessories such as shawls or wraps that are open and airy.
Single yarns are perfect to ply up with other yarns – perhaps you have a hand spun single yarn that needs a bit of something adding. All our Fusion yarns have a Z twist and will transform a simple yarn by adding a subtle texture and lovely gloss.
These creamy and golden shades have either cream, ochre or russet slubs twisted through and they are perfect to use either once dyed or in their natural state.
All our undyed yarns can be dyed with hot or cold water dyes using tools and equipment you would have in your kitchen. Linen and viscose need to be dyed with cold water, procion or fibre reactive dyes and can also be dyed with natural dyes – into solid or unique space-dyed colourways.
