WHAT IS IT?

Bob is a pure wool spun to create a sandy, slightly hairy, dense woolly yarn with darker strands of black combed through – almost like a Swaledale type wool. This yarn has been wound straight onto hanks direct from the spinning process and therefore to avoid unnecessary extra knots or joins, we are leaving them just as they have come to us. This means that the skeins vary in size slightly and there may also be the odd knot (or two) where the reeler has had to join two ends.

The yarn will dye easily with acid dyes or could be painted with silk paints or other types of dyes straight onto the yarn if you don’t have a big enough dye bath! Let the dark strands add character to the base of your dyed yarns.
